Although the existence of a Rock Band game based around Green Day was announced at the end of last year, Harmonix confirmed some more details about the upcoming game at GDC10 last night.
The game itself features the three members of the band (Billie Joe Armstrong - Lead Singer, Mike Dirnt – Bass and Tre Cool – Drummer), and although only the six songs performed at GDC10 (Brain Stew/Jaded, Hitchin’ a Ride, Wake Me Up When September Ends, Boulevard of Broken Dreams and American Idiot) have been confirmed, Harmonix said that they would include the band’s “critical song list”, now set at a full 47 tracks. The game will also include the three part vocal harmony technology used so well in The Beatles: Rock Band.
Players will follow the story and history of the band, unlocking over 100 collectible images and more than 40 minutes of rare and unreleased footage of the band as they progress, including interviews, outtakes and performances.
All songs featured in Green Day: Rock Band will be fully exportable to the other games in the franchise, and the game is due out for a simultaneous worldwide launch on June 08 2010.
