UPDATE: Apparantly the simultaneous EU/US release was not all as it seems. “There was a misunderstanding and there is no confirmed date for Europe,” an unnamed spokesperson from EA told Eurogamer. Im sure the rest of the EU can join us in being 100% Not. Happy.
Just as the dust from the (semi) Europe release of Rock Band 1 has settled, EA and Harmonix have confirmed that Rock Band 2 is due for release in September. Undercutting Guitar Hero World Tour by several months.
Harmonix have confirmed that the EU and US versions will both release in the same month although, not neccessarily on the same day.
Among the confirmed features is the ability to play all DLC from Rock Band 1, from now untill infinity. Harmonix have said that new instruments will be released in a bundle pack featuring several upgrades, although they refuse to comment on what exactly these upgrades are.

It seems theres another case of marketing departments dropping the ball, when this week it seems as though some eagle-eyed viewers have spotted what seem to be the new tracks for release in Rock Band.
In an advert airing on MTV in the US promoting Rock Band, there is a quick scroll through the list of songs available for download. If you look carefully then you can see some songs previously unseen which contain the tag “NOT READY TO TEST”.
