Mothership Zeta DLC Review

In the final planned DLC for Fallout 3 you see yourself transported up to Mothership Zeta from the Alien Crash Landing spot in the Wastelands and it see’s you battling your way through the ship trying to escape the evil clutches of hostile aliens.
Now Bethesda have announced that this is the final planned DLC for Fallout 3 but earlier this week they went on record and announced ‘Never say never’. In our eyes this DLC is very well thought out and brings you some brand new weaponry and all new alien foes.
As usual you start off with a radio transmission that leads you to the Alien Crash Landing where you then proceed to be sucked up into Mothership Zeta where your next scene involves being experimented on by aliens where you abruptly pass out and then wake up in a cell with another wastelander
It quickly becomes apparent that this is another escape plot but see’s you solving puzzles, pushing buttons and collecting recordings along the way. Of course along the way you will meet other abductees’ who all have a unique and individual way of help you out through the maze of corridors and rooms that build Zeta.
The DLC feels very linear sadly and is simply a case of go here, push button, shoot alien, push another button and then retrace your steps, so if your looking for something open worlded then maybe you should track back to some of the older DLC.
The whole setting is very unique onboard Zeta with a ton of new textures and weapons, and with some great new views from above earth you can tell that there has been a massive attention to detail with this DLC and I personally found myself just looking around most of the time to take in the great graphical work that has obviously been put into this DLC.
Overall Mothership Zeta DLC is definitely worth a buy for anyone who loves Alien blasters and wants to see a whole new look on the Fallout world and with around 4 hours of added content you cant go wrong!

I’m really impressed with all the DLC for Fallout 3. There’s been a couple of cases which weren’t all that strong, but on the whole this is the kind of support I’d like to see for all games.
