WWE WrestleFest coming to Xbox Live Arcade

Originally out in 1991, Technos Japan’s WWF WrestleFest coin-op is being given the “reboot” treatment by THQ – who are re-releasing it as WWE WrestleFest.

It’s already out on the Apple App Store (£1.99 for the standard edition or £2.49 the HD version), but THQ have confirmed that Xbox Live Arcade will also get a look-in later in the year. Main THQ man Danny Bilson said

WWE WrestleFest greatly complements our WWE videogames portfolio by delivering a unique and captivating way for fans to connect with the virtual WWE experience.

The game originally featured classic wrestlers like Hulk Hogan, Jake “The Snake” Roberts and Ultimate Warrior but this new version apparently has a “contemporary” roster – whatever that means. New visuals, multiplayer, DLC and a Road to WrestleMania career mode.

No firm console release date has been given as yet.
