Telltale Games announces The Walking Dead Collector’s Edition

Enjoying Telltale Games’ XBLA series, The Walking Dead as much as we are?

Would you like a little extra in a retail release? Well, Telltale have some good news for you, as they’ve revealed that they have a limited Collector’s Edition, as well as a standard retail version lined up for release.

While release date and price for Europe are yet to be announced, the US version will contain:

  • The Walking Dead Compendium One.
  • Collector’s Edition Box with Charlie Adlard artwork
  • The game disc including the entire first season, episodes 1 to 5.

Wait a minute, a compendium? That’s right, this will feature limited edition cover artwork from Charlie Adlard and over 1,000 pages, compiling the first 48 issues of the award-winning comic-book series by Robert Kirkman. This Collector’s Edition compendium is different to the one currently available and will not be available separately.

Those lucky gamers in the US can pre-order this from Gamestop for $69.99, to be released on the 4th of December. We’re expecting this to be released in the UK for £44 if the exchange rates are to go off.

Well as many people in North America are having problems with the disc version to the point that it is unplayable. Also there have been glitches with the downloads making it unplayable also. I won't hold my breath that a UK release will be in our midst very soon. How the QA allowed it to be released with so many glitches and updates that don't solve the problem is beyond me. I don't intend to use MS points to download something that could be a waste of money. If Telltale get their act together and release a fully playable disc version then I may be tempted but at the moment I'm holding on to my money.:)
