Star Wars 1313 in safe hands

I’m sure you’re all aware that Disney now owns Lucasfilm, after buying the company and its assets for £2.5 billion. A part of this takeover was Star Wars 1313 and the developers LucasArts.

A representative for LucasArts said:

“For the time being, all projects are business as usual. We are excited about all the possibilities that Disney brings.”

It is unclear what the future holds for these projects, but for now nothing will change, which is reassuring news for those concerned and fans anticipating its release.

Disney CEO Robert Iger shared their plans for game development by saying:

“We’re likely to focus more on social and mobile than we are on console. We’ll look opportunistically at console, most likely in licensing rather than publishing, but we think that given the nature of these characters and how well known they are, and the storytelling, that they lend themselves quite nicely, as they’ve already demonstrated to the other platforms.”

A rather open-ended answer from Robert Iger there, so will we see more Star Wars titles on console?
