Skyrim goes all homely with Hearthfire DLC

The latest DLC for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was announced today by Bethesda, along with an informative video guide on its content.

Called Hearthfire, this 400 MS Points worth of DLC will allow you to build your own permanent house in the Skyrim universe. Once you’ve got your land and bought your deeds you can then set about building your dream palace in the wilderness. Once this is complete, you can grow and craft materials in your kitchen and alchemy lab. You then use the new drafting table to design your dream abode. Bolt on an armoury for a little extra fun, or build a greenhouse and cultivate some crops. There are a range of craftable items to choose from as well as the option to make your abode as big or as small as you’d prefer.

You can craft your own furniture too, none of that Swedish stuff here.

You could also hire a Steward to do all of this for you and then when it’s all complete, move the spouse in and adopt a child. Protect your family and home from infestation and attacks from various monsters.

So, buy a house, have a family, be successful. It’s the Skyrim equivalent of the Game of Life. Be a winner.

Hearthfire is out on Xbox Live on the 4th of September, costing 400 MS Points.
