Microsoft could launch its Xbox Music service alongside the release of Windows 8 on October 26th. If sources provided by The Verge are to be believed.
The service works in a similar fashion to Zune Music Pass and Spotify, so that means there are subscriptions and free ad-supported accounts. Zune subscribers will find all of their content and subscriptions transferred to the new service, according to this FAQ.
Users will also be able to store music and playlists in Microsoft SkyDrives, allowing easy access between supported devices such as a Windows phone.
iOS and Android apps are also available for Xbox Music, but will not be immediately available. An Xbox dashboard update is planned around the launch of the service.
Intriguing news to say the least. Would you use the music service?
