Painkiller to bring Hell and Damnation in the New Year

Nordic Games have announced some explosive bonus content for Painkiller Hell & Damnation when it is released in its uncut version on the 22nd of January 2013, with a recommended price point of just £24.99.

Unfortunately for those of us with a penchant for the Xbox, it looks as though this bonus content will be aimed primarily at the PC games market. Yes, we get an uncut version in the New Year, but PC gamers have the choice of a cut version and a Collector’s edition with some interesting additions.

Painkiller first exploded onto the scene in 2004 and Hell and Damnation is a modern remake of the original and takes the gamer on an all action campaign against hordes of demons and fiends and while the game-disc and an A3 poster will be nice enough, it won’t make up for the lack of ten song, heavy metal soundtrack cd that the PC Collector’s Edition will get amongst other things.

Peter Hercher, PR and Marketing at Nordic Games GmbH said:

We’re committed to offering games of the highest quality and rewarding the fans with additional content that truly adds depth. It’s fantastic that we can offer this at a price which is superb value for money. The game is an explosive action classic that has been packed full of the darkest parts of hell and fantastic bonus material, for an extreme, demonic experience.

I have to say, I’m a little disappointed that there will be no Collector’s Edition for the Xbox, but the game itself has been rebuilt in the Unreal engine, and has been re-rendered in HD, so maybe, at this recommended price-point, it does represent great value after all, even if we don’t get that CD.
