Assassins Creed 3, as expected, was a huge success with copies flying off the shelves (and considering just how many editions were released that’s pretty big news) but not content to rest on their laurels or drag the story out Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft CEO, revealed that we will be seeing a new protagonist fill the hood and take the fight to the Templars, along with a brand new time period.

Expected to launch some time within Ubisoft’s fiscal year, meaning we could see It at any point from as early as April this year up until March next year.

“We are delighted and proud to announce today that in financial year ’14, we will introduce an all-new Assassin’s Creed hero, within an all new team and time period, and we expect it to be another major leap forward for the franchise. It is the benefit of multiple teams, working on multiple chapters of the product, each getting several years to make their versions of an Assassin’s Creed game”

Assassin’s Creed 3 was also developed by a multi-studio team led by Ubisoft Montreal, however this time around Guillemot did not specify which studio is taking the lead on this promised leap forward.

So what do you think? Excited to see a new era emerge? Or did you want some more time with Connor?
