New Street Fighter X Tekken DLC contains 12 extra characters
If you’re still kicking ass and taking names on Street Fighter X Tekken, then you’ll be pleased to know that Capcom have 12 new downloadable characters up their sleeves and ready to drop this month.
We say new, but there was a bunch of hoo-har back in March when fight fans found out that the characters in question were included as part of a timed exclusive with the PS Vita version of the game but were also included on console disc versions, and that Capcom would be charging 1200MSP to unlock them.
Capcom defended itself by saying:
”The character information and files were intentionally included on retail versions of the PS3 and Xbox 360 game to save hard drive space and to ensure for a smooth transition when the DLC is available, allowing players who choose not to purchase the content the ability to play against players that did.”
That aside, the 12 characters featured in the “DLC” are already sorely missed in-game (one of whom I outlined in my review), so most hardcore devotees will probably find it hard to resist stumping up the 1200MSP.
- From the Street Fighter side: Blanka, Cody, Dudley, Elena, Guy, Sakura
- And from Tekken: Alisa Bosconovitch, Bryan Fury, Christie Monteiro, Jack-X, Lars Alexandersson, Lei Wulong
What do you guys think about developers charging you to unlock stuff you already own? As always, we’d love to get your feedback in the comments below.
