Mass Effect 3′s Extended Cut contains hidden DLC files

Yesterday saw the release of Mass Effect 3′s Extended Cut DLC, which apparently contained some hidden DLC data focusing on a Reaper called Leviathan.

Before I continue, the following below contains spoilers.

Found by the BioWare Social Network and shortened by EG, Shepard is apparently sent to rescue a scientist named Ann Brynson, who’s found at a Reaper-indoctrinated mining facility. The colony has been controlled by a Reaper named Leviathan for 10 years. Leviathan is referred to as a defector, a traitor who killed one of its own kind.

Leviathan can join your side, as a War Asset or perhaps a teammate. As for Brynson, she can either live or die depending upon your choices.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard the name Leviathan, as the original Mass Effect revealed “The Leviathan of Dis”, the corpse of a presumed-dead living starship. Then, in Mass Effect 3, the character Balak (if kept alive in Mass Effect 1′s Bring Down the Sky DLC) hints that the Leviathan was a dormant Reaper, which the batarians have accidentally reactivated.

So what will we exactly see with this DLC? More Reapers are certainly on the cards.

The full hidden files can be found here.
