EA could lose its NCAA Football exclusive rights

According to a report from GameStop, EA may have to give up its exclusive rights to develop NCAA Football titles after 2014.
The main reason for this is down to a reported settlement in a lawsuit made in 2008, where EA will apparently let the rights go without renewal for at least another five years. The proposed agreement also states that EA will not sign an exclusive deal with the Arena Football League during this period either, meaning that other developers and publishers can pounce on the opportunity.
Interestingly, US consumers who purchased an NCAA Football game during the last six years are entitled to a small payout as part of the agreement. Whether or not this is true, remains unknown.
The settlement currently awaits approval, so keep an eye out.
