Last weeks leak from Tesco has now been confirmed by Activision. Call of Duty: Ghosts is to be both a current and next gen game, with more details to be divulged during Microsoft’s May 21st conference.
The game is being developed by Infinity Ward, with executive producer Mark Rubin saying:
We saw the console transition as the perfect opportunity to start a new chapter for Call of Duty. So we’re building a new sub-brand, a new engine, and a lot of new ideas and experiences for our players. We can’t wait to share them with our community.
Check out the teaser trailer that came with the announcement.
President of Microsoft’s interactive Entertainment Business, Don Mattrick, seems keen to solidify the COD series as a Microsoft franchise:
With Call of Duty: Ghosts, we have no doubt that our longtime partners, Activision and Infinity Ward, will raise the bar higher than ever before for this incredible franchise.
The cat’s out the bag. Let the hate (and love) begin. Wonder when Billy Murray is going to show up though…
