In May last year, Diablo III was released to the PC and Mac markets and within 24 hours was confirmed as the fastest selling PC game of all time while envious console-based eyes watched from afar. By the end of December last year, Diablo III had sold more than 12 million copies worldwide. Impressive stats for a game only released on two platforms.

Now, Blizzard Entertainment have confirmed that Diablo III will be released on Xbox 360 this autumn. This will feature the same 5 character classes from the original game, Barbarian, Witch Doctor, Wizard, Monk and Demon Hunter.

The player interface has been redesigned specifically for console play, with a new dynamic camera and will also feature four-player online and offline co-op, Normal, Nightmare, Hell and Inferno standard modes, with 8 difficulty settings to increase the challenge and reward you with more powerful kit.  A Hardcore mode is also included.

The loot system has also been redesigned, there to take advantage of the fast paced console platform. The behaviour of the Hellish monsters has also been tweaked for console play, with each fiend having a unique attack pattern.

Xbox Live will also give the player access to voice chat and game invitations.

Look upon Diablo III with envious eyes no more, the eternal battle between the High Heavens and the Burning Hells lives on, on a console near you this autumn.
