Assassin’s Creed movie gets help from Wolverine writer
The Assassin’s Creed movie has long been gestating since its initial announcement, slowly moving along with the addition of Michael Fassbender on board to play a big role. Now it seems the team have hit another bump in the road and hired Scott Frank, who most recently scripted Marvels The Wolverine, to re-write the movie which had an earlier draft penned by British playwright Michael Lesslie
“I’m rewriting Assassin’s Creed right now, and what I love about it is that I’ve never adapted a video game before and it has its own set of challenges, especially in the world of re-writes, I love trying to do something completely different if I can.”
This could be considered bad news, adding more production time, but I’m thinking this is actually a positive note, meaning the project will gain some serious momentum and the efforts of a talent whose previous work includes Minority Report, Flight of the Phoenix and Get Shorty.
There’s still a long wait though as the film is scheduled to be released in June 2015.
Are you excited to see an Assassin’s Creed movie? or would you rather they let this franchise rest its feet firmly in the gaming universe?
