Activision will take on new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle games
We haven’t seen much from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the gaming front for some time, which is a shame considering some great titles have spawned from this series on consoles past and present (there have been some shockers too which we should all try to forget)
Today Activision are happy to confirm a multi-year deal with Nickelodeon to develop and release at least three titles based upon the new CG-animated TV show. The series premiered last October receiving good reviews and spawning another series which is soon to be aired. Activision will release the first of their three Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games in the summer although they have yet to confirm a platform, but it seems logical to expect an Xbox release.
Activision publishing Vice President Kurt Niederloh briefly spoke about his eagerness to work on the franchise.
“The fans of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are unique in that they span generations and are very passionate, We respect this passion and look forward to working with Nickelodeon to create games that embody the spirit of the property.”
Sherice Torres, senior VP of entertainment products for Nickelodeon Consumer Products was equally happy to be working with Activision
“We are confident that these upcoming games will take gamers through interactive environments and action-packed adventures that truly capture the essence, tone and exciting elements of the Turtles.”
