Review: Call of Duty Elite DLC Drop 4

If you are a Call of Duty Elite premium member you’ll be pleased to know that the 7th & 8th content drops have hit Xbox Live. So far the content drops have been pretty good, so will the two new Multiplayer Maps maintain the current quality of the previous drops?
The first map is Sanctuary, suspended in the air one thousand feet up, in the towering sandstone monasteries of Central Greece. This was definitely my favourite map of the two; most of the action will take place in the centre of the map. If you are a sniper you’ll only have a tall staircase hidden away.
There are plenty of tight corridors and there will be little chance to rest on your laurels, as there is a cool little shortcut in the middle of the map braver players can make their way under a bridge that will see you flanking your enemies, one wrong move on the ledge and there is a long way down.
I like the fact that in what should be a completely peaceful setting, you have a mini war going on. If you pay attention to background noises when grenades aren’t going off you got a sense of what the place would have been like before the battle set in.
Foundation sees you journey into the heart of South Korea for a decommissioned concrete factory where the cement flows and bullets fly. It’s a great map for the all-rounder, with lots of long-range areas for the snipers as well as plenty of close combat if you decide to explore the sides of the map.
There are plenty of levels and vantage points that means you’ll need eyes in the back of your head if you are to have any sort of decent Kill/Death ratio. As good as the map is it’s clear that there wasn’t as much attention to detail paid to this map. For example I’m normally pretty good at being killed by exploding vehicles but there are a couple of vans on the map that are just static, I’ve also noticed windows that don’t break. They are only small things but I’ve come to expect more from every aspect of the map especially based on the quality of the previous content.
A bit of a poor show this time round, next month will see 4 maps to get our teeth into so here’s hoping things improve.
