We we’re a bit dubious about posting this so we’re not going to go into depth.  Several rumours suggest that the NXE Dashboard Update is going to be released on 25th September backed up by a 5 hour countdown on TV.  We must point out that this is very much a rumour and we wish it to stay that way until an official announcement is made.  We were always told that NXE is due late November and Major Nelson confirmed this at PAX last week, so once again don’t go by what anyone says until we have official word.

The rumours also carry on with Microsoft giving away six free original xbox titles, and one of them is ‘confirmed’ to be Halo.  Several other items suggest that we have a ton of new content to buy as well as the announced updates.  Wait theres more… Apprantly a few new titles will be announced including Assassins Creed 2, Mass Effect 2 and a new Conker title.  All of this news seems very interesting but highly unlikly.. we wait to be proven wrong.

UPDATE: Apparantly the simultaneous EU/US release was not all as it seems. “There was a misunderstanding and there is no confirmed date for Europe,” an unnamed spokesperson from EA told Eurogamer. Im sure the rest of the EU can join us in being 100% Not. Happy.
Just as the dust from the (semi) Europe release of Rock Band 1 has settled, EA and Harmonix have confirmed that Rock Band 2 is due for release in September. Undercutting Guitar Hero World Tour by several months.

Harmonix have confirmed that the EU and US versions will both release in the same month although, not neccessarily on the same day.

Among the confirmed features is the ability to play all DLC from Rock Band 1, from now untill infinity. Harmonix have said that new instruments will be released in a bundle pack featuring several upgrades, although they refuse to comment on what exactly these upgrades are.

It seems theres another case of marketing departments dropping the ball, when this week it seems as though some eagle-eyed viewers have spotted what seem to be the new tracks for release in Rock Band.

In an advert airing on MTV in the US promoting Rock Band, there is a quick scroll through the list of songs available for download. If you look carefully then you can see some songs previously unseen which contain the tag “NOT READY TO TEST”.

G-Unit member Tony Yayo has been quoted saying the the new 50-Cent adventure, Blood on the Sand; is “looking as good as Gears of War”. Apparantly, EPIC’s Mark Rein has been reported saying that during a preview last year he was ‘blown away’.

Heavy words indeed, but Im not sure I can forgive Fiddy for the abomination that was Bulletproof but it seems as though the dev team are making a genuinely good game rather than a companion for the latest album.

In a blatant attempt to piggy back on the recent success of Rockstar’s GTA IV, THQ have released the latest trailer for their sequel to their game Saints Row. THQ deny attempting to steal the limelight but I’ll leave it for you to decide. GTA IV fans please take a deep breath before saying anything.

Breaking news across the interwebs today as news surfaces of GTA IV being leaked. It looks as though an unsavoury group of people by the name of iCON have managed to get hold of whats believed to be a copy of Asian origin. Its only compatible with PAL regions but theres rumoured to be a NTSC version in the next 48 hours. On behalf of all sane minded humans we at Xboxer360 strongly suggest that you dont download the game. Just think what a massive dis-credit it would be to the dev team behind this nigh-on perfect game.

Also a warning to all those seeking new GTA info, Massive clips and files of gameplay have been posted all over the internet so all us law abiding people best put on our anti spoiler goggles.

Once again people, Please resist the urge to download! Theres only 5 full days left!

UK retailers Game, Gamestation and Play.com are reporting that their preorder stocks of GTA IV are all but expended. Players wanting to cash in on the offers of free Gamerpics and MSPoints may well be out of luck with all retailers saying that copies ordered after April 7th may not arrive at your doorstep on release day. Makes me glad I had mine ordered last year…

Rumour has it that Kane and Lynch developer, Eidos, Will be releasing info on a new DLC pack for the game tomorrow. Early speculations hint that the pack is going to be a free download too, Depending on the quality then maybe its worth giving it a second chance?

The new arcade game; Mr Driller: Online, is apparantly riddled with online bugs at the moment. Most players are complaining that the bugs are so bad they’re forced to play offline. Ouch. More news as we get it.

Australian ratings board OFLC have recently rated a newer iteration in the Geometry Wars franchise. Sticking with the Retro Evolved title, although not with its home console. The rating states that this title is going to be a multi-platform release and to be published by Activision rather than Bizarre Creations, so lets hope that this one is a true sequel rather than just a name..

Call of Duty MMO? According to several rumour mills online EA Games are trying to aquire Ubisoft.  EA Already has seen a bid turned down this week from Take Two, lets wait and see if this rumour proves to be worthy.

Pre-Ordered GTA IV yet? Well, Rumour is that if you pre-order your copy of GTA then you can expect to recieve 4 exclusive gamerpics not available to the public. Sketchier rumours state that if you make your pre-order via an actual shop rather than the web, you’ll get a limited edition case too. Finally, inside the case there will be an entry form for a competition due to start by mid-april on xbox.com.

I hope you all kept those receipts for your 360 HD Drives… Electronics giant, Toshiba, are rumoured to be pulling out of the optical format war, with sources all over the world reporting that Toshiba are abondoning HD DVD and shutting down all the factories producing the discs.

While this may be good for short term price drops, it wont be so good when your packing up your shiny HD DVD player in the same box as that damned BetaMax…

Recent press releases tell that Activision are planning on a spring release for new CoD4 content. We’re told that there’s gonna be new multiplayer maps, but other than that nothing else has been revealed. Seeing as we are all still waiting for last month’s patch we can only speculate if the DLC will arrive on time. Plus, theres the matter of pricing…

In an interview with Eurogamer, Valve spokesman Doug Lombardi has let everybody know there will definately be more Portal in the pipeline and assures us its not just “a bunch of new puzzles.” Unfortunately no dates have been set so when it arrives is still up for speculation..
