Xbox Live Starter Kit 20 August 2008 at 12:27 pm by Dave Burns

Xbox Live Starter PackMicrosoft have unvieled an Xbox Live Starter Kit at Leipzig GC in Germany.  The kit will include a 60gb Hard Drive, Xbox Live Headset and a 3 Month Live Gold Membership.  We’re not great at translations but we’re assured that this pack is being released on 21st November 2008 and it will be priced at 79 Euros.  No confirmed price for the UK yet.  We suspect this kit is primarily for Arcade owners but with the 20gb models ending production we feel this is ideal for premium users.

+ Review: Soul Calibur 4 By Falseywoo 06 August 2008 at 3:44 am and have No Comments

Soul Calibur 4 is the sixth instalment in a series that started in arcades nearly 12 years ago, and we’re eager to see what new spins this latest version offers.

The story revolves around two swords, Soul Edge and Soul Calibur. Soul Edge started off as a normal sword forged by man until after years of bloodshed and battle, it gained a soul of its own. Then someone forged a sword to counteract its effects, Soul Calibur. Now that the fluff is out of the way I can finally get into how the game plays.

+ Rock Band 2: Its official! By Falseywoo 30 June 2008 at 4:50 pm and have No Comments

Rock Band

UPDATE: Apparantly the simultaneous EU/US release was not all as it seems. “There was a misunderstanding and there is no confirmed date for Europe,” an unnamed spokesperson from EA told Eurogamer. Im sure the rest of the EU can join us in being 100% Not. Happy.
Just as the dust from the (semi) Europe release of Rock Band 1 has settled, EA and Harmonix have confirmed that Rock Band 2 is due for release in September. Undercutting Guitar Hero World Tour by several months.

Harmonix have confirmed that the EU and US versions will both release in the same month although, not neccessarily on the same day.

Among the confirmed features is the ability to play all DLC from Rock Band 1, from now untill infinity. Harmonix have said that new instruments will be released in a bundle pack featuring several upgrades, although they refuse to comment on what exactly these upgrades are.

We’ll keep you updated.

+ GTA IV: RELEASED EARLY! By Falseywoo 23 April 2008 at 2:51 pm and have No Comments

Grand Theft Auto IV

Breaking news across the interwebs today as news surfaces of GTA IV being leaked. It looks as though an unsavoury group of people by the name of iCON have managed to get hold of whats believed to be a copy of Asian origin. Its only compatible with PAL regions but theres rumoured to be a NTSC version in the next 48 hours. On behalf of all sane minded humans we at Xboxer360 strongly suggest that you dont download the game. Just think what a massive dis-credit it would be to the dev team behind this nigh-on perfect game.

Also a warning to all those seeking new GTA info, Massive clips and files of gameplay have been posted all over the internet so all us law abiding people best put on our anti spoiler goggles.

Once again people, Please resist the urge to download! Theres only 5 full days left!

After the DLC hits on the 27th then, all the new DLC will be simutaneous UK/US releases.

+ Geometry Wars 2: Its.. Real?? By Falseywoo 03 April 2008 at 9:50 pm and have No Comments

Australian ratings board OFLC have recently rated a newer iteration in the Geometry Wars franchise. Sticking with the Retro Evolved title, although not with its home console. The rating states that this title is going to be a multi-platform release and to be published by Activision rather than Bizarre Creations, so lets hope that this one is a true sequel rather than just a name..

+ Two Worlds: New DLC By Falseywoo 03 April 2008 at 9:41 pm and have No Comments

Fantastic news, Even more DLC is being released for Two Worlds this week. The pack is said to include 35 more quests for you to complete, giving a total of 70 bonus quests when combined with the last DLC; and more PVP is here. Although the PVP section has exactly the same description as the last hit of DLC so its hard to tell whether your paying for more, or just more of the same. Exactly the same.

This content will set you back 600 MSPoints if you really must download it, God only knows how much more they’re going to milk this already dying ‘cash cow’…

+ Undertow: Expansion Announced By Falseywoo 03 March 2008 at 8:38 pm and have No Comments

Undertow

Over christmas XBL was ‘problematic’ and Microsoft gifted us all with a free download of Undertow to say sorry. Conviniently, Heres comes the expansion too.. Named Path of the Elect and weighing in at 400 MSPoints, the pack promises five levels in the single player campaign, a new race (the elect) as well as more multiplayer maps. The original was reasonably fun, so this expansion may well be worth a whirl.

The pack will be available on March 5th via XBL.

+ Review: The Club By Falseywoo 01 March 2008 at 1:07 pm and have No Comments

The Club seems to offer a unique gameplay scenario, Like Project Gotham, Only with guns. Bizarre have told us plenty of times how this is the next big thing in shooters, but we’re here to ask, Is it?

The premise of The Club is similar to that of the other Bizzarre Creations games, Continue Reading →

+ GTA IV: Pre-Order Goodies? By Falseywoo 16 February 2008 at 11:22 pm and have No Comments

Grand Theft Auto IV

Pre-Ordered GTA IV yet? Well, Rumour is that if you pre-order your copy of GTA then you can expect to recieve 4 exclusive gamerpics not available to the public. Sketchier rumours state that if you make your pre-order via an actual shop rather than the web, you’ll get a limited edition case too. Finally, inside the case there will be an entry form for a competition due to start by mid-april on xbox.com.

Remember, these are rumours but we are trying to bring you more information as we get it. Stick around for updates…

+ REZ HD, Chessmaster Live: Released By Falseywoo 30 January 2008 at 10:07 pm and have No Comments

Marketplace Update
Those of you checking the XBLA this morning will notice that REZ HD and Chessmaster Live have finally arrived!

REZ is a Hi-Def ‘Remix’ of the original classic, where firing to the beat and furiously dodging fire are the name of the game. Having downloaded it, I promise you that you’ll struggle to find anything as original and insanely fun as this for a long time; Although, you may want to keep this one away from all the epileptics, and granny.

Chessmaster is just what it says on the tin, A Live based Chess game. Not much else to say really, it looks pretty enough and the CPU oppenents are significantly better than, say, Spyglass for instance, but at the end of the day, this is still just Chess.
