Bye Bye RRoD?

I guess you could say that i’m one of the lucky ones in the sense that i haven’t been subject to the infamous Red Ring of Death (Yet…) but for those of you that have here is some good news:

According to the developers, the new ‘Jasper’ version of the Xbox 360 amongst other things will introduce a 60nm graphics chip which should end the problems associated with the RRoD.

Apparently “The graphics chip will likely consume less power than previous versions, allowing it to fit snugly into its motherboard socket. That should lead to fewer system failures due to the graphics chips coming loose.”

As of yet we don’t know how we will be able to tell the ‘Jasper’ model apart from the current versions without taking it apart and examining the motherboard so that is something to get you thinking about.

The is all great however the big problem that i have is that millions of us have an Xbox console and who wants to fork out more cash for another, slighlty improved, Xbox? I already got rid of my first one and replaced it with the Elite and i wont be doing it again.

So, anyone thinking about it? Would love to know if you, like me, think its just another reason to spend money or are your views totally different?
